Rovers are delighted to announce that fans favourite Elliott Bennett has signed a new deal with the club.

The popular midfielder has put pen-to-paper on a new two-and-a-half-year contract, which will keep him at Ewood Park until at least June 2021.

The news follows hot on the heels of Rovers captain Charlie Mulgrew also committing his future to the club for the next two seasons.

A player with a huge heart, remarkable work ethic and special relationship with the supporters, Bennett arrived at Rovers in January 2016 from Norwich City, where he won promotion to the Premier League in 2014-15.

A mainstay in the side under manager Tony Mowbray, the 29-year-old has been rewarded for his consistent and impressive performances over the past 18 months.

An integral part of Rovers' promotion-winning team, Bennett started 40 of the 46 games in League One last term, scoring in back-to-back games against AFC Wimbledon and Wigan Athletic.

He has continued his fine form into the current campaign, starting 16 of our 17 Championship fixtures, helping Rovers rise to within two points of the play-off places.

Bennett has now started exactly 100 games in Rovers' colours and everyone connected with the club can look forward to him playing many, many more.
