Elliott Bennett can't wait to get back into the groove when Rovers take on near neighbours Preston North End this weekend.
It's the first of a three-game week, with another local trip to Wigan Athletic following quickly on Wednesday night at the DW Stadium.
The 29-year-old has scored in his last outings against both opponents and is eager to continue his fine form against the pair by bagging his first goal of the season - at least.
“We have games to look forward to. The rivalry is there with Preston with them being close by and we have a recent history with Wigan with all that went on last season at the top of League One," Benno began when speaking to iFollow Rovers.
“I scored the last time I played against Preston and Wigan, but it’s worth remembering I also got sent off against Wigan, so we won’t mention too much about that!
“If I can help the team by scoring again then I’ll do what I can wherever I play. I’m yet to play in goal after Richie took that away from me, and centre half. Although I don’t fancy playing at centre back to be honest!"
And whilst it's been frustrating for the fans to go two weeks without a Rovers game due to the international break, it's been just as irritating for Bennett!
He added with a smile: “I don’t like breaks. I want to play games as a break means Chris Rush [Head of Athletic Performance] is back on the scene at the training ground!
“Give me games over training with Rushy any day of the week!"
