After two promotions via the play-offs, you could say it was about time Jack Payne earned promotion an easier way.

Jack's earned promotion at Wembley with Southend United and Huddersfield Town in his relatively short career so far, and admitted earning another one with Rovers gave him a different feeling.
“I’m chuffed to bits with another promotion. They all have their special moments," the 23-year-old reflected.
"At Southend it was my first ever promotion and I played loads of games, Huddersfield we were promoted to the Premier League which was unbelievable.
“This one here is different because it’s the first time I’ve done it automatically and in a way it’s better. In the play-offs there is so much pressure and to get our promotion out of the way early meant we could enjoy the last couple of games of the season a little bit."
So what was the secret to Rovers' success this term? Payne reckons the mentality in the squad certainly played a huge part in it.
“Every game we went into it believing we would win and it’s been brilliant to be a part of," he explained. "We always seemed to find a way to win even when we weren’t at our best.
“We have some great characters and the standard in training was so high. It’s been one of the closest groups I’ve been a part of. There were no cliques and everyone pulled in the same direction.
“We all worked for each other and we could rely on your mate. There are loads of different characters and I’d say the balance wa perfect. We’ve all played at different levels and had youth and experience, too."
