Rovers Ladies secured another vital victory in their quest to retain the Premier League Northern Division title as they ran out 1-0 winners away to Derby County.
It was a dominant performance by Gemma Donnelly’s side, but it took an own goal to decide the contest and ensure that Sunday’s game against Leicester City could see Rovers go top of the table.
Lagan Makin set the tone for the night, as her effort came back off the far post, before Natasha Flint fired wide from inside the box.
Saffron Jordan then found herself in behind and rounded the keeper, only to see her shot blocked on the line.
The breakthrough eventually arrived just before the break, as Jess Holbrook whipped in a corner to the near post and it was flicked into her own net by a Derby defender.
Kaylea Cunliffe could have made the game safe in the second half, as her back-post volley was blazed over, before a diving header went narrowly wide.
With just 10 minutes remaining, Danielle Hill made a crucial save from an Andrea Bell shot, as Rovers claimed another priceless three points.
