Rovers Ladies made it nine points from nine in the space of just five days with a 3-1 win over Guiseley Vixens.

Natasha Fenton opened the scoring and a brace from Saffron Jordan ensured all three points came back to Lancashire.

Before taking the lead, Rovers twice hit the woodwork, first when Kayleigh McDonald found space at the back post, before Kaylea Cunliffe’s header struck the upright from a set-piece.

Just before the half-hour mark, Fenton unleashed an effort from distance, which flew into the top-right corner.

Soon after, Jordan broke the offside trap from a Lynda Shepherd pass, before using the bounce of the ball to lob the onrushing goalkeeper and double Rovers’ lead.

After the restart, Jordan scored the goal of the game on 54 minutes as a sharp twist inside the area gave her the space to bend the ball into the net for 3-0.

Guiseley did pull a goal back on 69 minutes, as Ellie Olds got in behind McDonald and placed a shot past Amelia Size in the Rovers goal, but Gemma Donnelly’s treble-winners comfortably secured the points.

ROVERS: Size, Taylor, Jukes, McDonald, Clarkson, Shepherd (Walsh 60), Holbrook (Montgomery 74), Fenton, Jordan, Flint, Cunliffe (Gerrard 74).
