Rovers defender Paul Downing says his move to Ewood Park couldn't have possibly gone any better after arriving from MK Dons last summer.

Originally joining on a loan deal from the Buckinghamshire club on deadline day in the summer of 2017, Downing established himself as a key man for Rovers.
So much so, Tony Mowbray moved swiftly to snap the 26-year-old up on a permanent deal in January, and Paul confesses it's been great to get to know the boss having crossed paths with him earlier in his career.
“I knew briefly how he worked but I was very young when we were both at West Brom," Downing told iFollow Rovers.
"It’s nice to be able to get the day-to-day stuff with him and the match day bits as well.
“The style of play has suited my game as well so I think the move here has suited both parties, to be honest."
“We’re all delighted that so many fans came out to join us against Oxford to celebrated on the last game of the season and it was a brilliant day for everyone, particularly with us signing off the season with a win.
“It’s time to rest up and look forward to next season."
