Blackburn Rovers Community Trust’s BTEC in Sport students have just returned from a tough but fun training camp in Club La Santa, Lanzarote.
The trip, which lasted from the 14th to the 21st May, was packed with a host of fun team and individual sporting activities to test the students on the sun-kissed Spanish island.
The Trust's BTEC scholars participated in sports such as running, cycling, volleyball, tennis, squash, badminton and much more.
Overall, the trip was a huge success, and follows on from a memorable week for the BTEC programme after the students represented BRCT in two 11-a-side football matches against their equivalents from Preston North End at Deepdale and Blackpool at Ewood Park.
David Hayhurst, head of secondary and further education at the Trust, organised the Lanzarote trip and was pleased with how the week panned out.
He said: “The students were excellent and they had a great time at Club La Santa, who we thank for their great hospitality.
“The weather was good and we managed to get involved in a number of different sport activities throughout the seven days.
“All of the students were a credit to Blackburn Rovers Community Trust and the trip is just another example of the unique opportunities we provide on the BTEC in Sport programme.”
