A great day all round from all Rovers who got involved in the idea all around the world!

Thousands of people across the country showed their support for Blackburn Rovers by participating in Blue and White Day on Friday 4th May.

More than 30 schools, businesses and organisations donned the club’s traditional blue and white colours in aid of Blackburn Rovers Community Trust and other local causes to celebrate promotion to the Sky Bet Championship at the first time of asking!

The club’s popular mascot, Rover the Dog, visited various organisations and schools throughout the day and met all the Rovers fans taking part!

Rover’s route started with a trip to St James Lower Darwen at 9am and after a frantic day concluded with a visit to Essential Employment, who are housed in the Darwen End at Ewood Park.

Blackburn Rovers Community Trust’s events and fundraising officer Jess Clegg, who brought the Blue and White Day idea to life said: “It has been an absolutely amazing day and we are all so pleased how it has gone.

“It has been frantic to say the least visiting so many different places in one day but it is great to see how many people have showed their support for Blackburn Rovers by participating in Blue and White Day.

“It is great that we can mark the club’s promotion back to the Championship by raising money for the Trust and other local causes! Everyone looked like they were having a good time and of course, they loved meeting Rover.”

Rukhsana, assistant head teacher from St Michael with St John’s, a primary school based in Blackburn town centre, added: “St Michael with St John have been proud to be a part of the Blue and White Day celebrations.

“We've shown our support by wearing blue and white and we've even enjoyed a few football chants. The visit from Rover the Dog was the perfect end to our day! Well done Rovers!”

The excitement now continues as we get set for our final game of the season against Oxford United at Ewood Park tomorrow.

Don’t forget that any match tickets purchased before 3pm on Saturday are priced at just £10 for adults, £5 for concessions and £2 for juniors (normal matchday prices apply after 3pm on Saturday 5th May).
