Rovers boss Tony Mowbray has made one change to the side which drew against Wigan last week for the visit of Blackpool to Ewood Park.
Playmaker Jack Payne comes in for Corry Evans, with the Northern Irishman dropping to the bench.
Payne is likely to lineup on one side of a three-man attack behind Danny Graham, and will join Adam Armstrong and Bradley Dack in completing the trio.
Returning to the Rovers bench is Dominic Samuel, who has recovered from the ankle injury picked up at Walsall a couple of weeks ago.
Ex-Rovers boss Gary Bowyer - who is now in charge of the visitors - includes former Rovers pair Jay Spearing and Nathan Delfouneso in his starting XI.
Spearing appeared 16 times for the club during a loan from Bolton Wanderers in the 2014-15 campaign, whilst striker Delfouneso also appeared 16 times, scoring twice during his stint at Ewood Park in the 2015-16 season.
There are further links between the two teams, with another ex-Rover in Andy Taylor starting on the bench for the Tangerines, whilst members of Bowyer's backroom staff in Terry McPhillips and Andy Todd are also former employees here.
