Rovers midfielder Richie Smallwood has heaped the praise on loan hitman Adam Armstrong, claiming the Newcastle loanee is a "special" talent.
Armstrong has certainly had an impact in his first couple of months at Ewood Park, and after failing to find the net in his first five outings for his new club, has seven goals in seven games since.
Of those seven, Adam himself has admitted his favourite was his first against Portsmouth in February, and team-mate Richie confesses he loves playing with the 21-year-old and feels Armstrong can be the difference for Rovers come the end of the campaign.
“He’s a special player with the ability to hurt any team in this league," Smallwood said. "If he can continue as he has done for the remainder of this season then I think we’ll get the job done.
“He’s a very good professional, a quiet lad but he’s mixing in well. He does his talking on the pitch and hopefully that can continue. He can help us this season.
“He’s a striker but is scoring goals from the left wing. He makes it look easy with the positions he takes up. He’s a natural finisher, and Danny [Graham]’s the same, but Arma’s showing he can do it so early on in his career."
If Adam continues his recent goal ratio between now and the end of the campaign, Rovers should certainly go close to achieving their goal.
We've nine games to go and the next one comes at Gillingham's Priestfield Stadium next Saturday. Tickets remain for the clash and you can purchase yours by clicking here.
