Rovers Under-23s are back in action this evening when Damien Johnson takes the team to Wolverhampton Wanderers in Premier League 2.
Fresh from a narrow victory at home to Southampton a week ago, Rovers will be going in search of a third consecutive 1-0 victory having also beaten Stoke by that scoreline in the last away game at the back end of February.
With the game being the only match of the evening, Rovers could go seven points clear at the summit with three games left to play, with a victory against a Wolves side who have lost one of their last five games.
Joe Nuttall could be included, with the striker eyeing the Golden Boot award in Premier League 2. The 21-year-old bagged a hat-trick when the two teams last met on the opening day of the season at Ewood Park, with Rovers running out 5-1 winners.
However, doubts remain on the fitness of striker Lewis Mansell and midfielder Joe Rankin-Costello, who have both missed out through injury in recent weeks.
But Johnson could be boosted by the return of Jack Vale from international duty, with the Welshman back from representing his country at Under-19s level against Croatia last week.
Hosts Wolves come into the game on the back of progressing to the quarter-finals of the Premier League Cup, having beaten Exeter City on penalties on Wednesday evening.
The home side will be without highly rated goalkeeper Harry Borgoyne, with the stopper linking up with England Under-21s for a clash against Ukraine Under-21s at Bramall Lane tomorrow evening.
Kick-off at Molineux is at 7pm.
