World Cup fever is about to sweep across the globe as football fans get ready for the 2018 tournament which will kick-off on Thursday in Russia.
Supporters from 32 different countries will be hoping to see their team lift the prestigious trophy on Sunday 15th July in the Luzhniki Stadium, Moscow.
To celebrate the 64 game competition, we are hosting a World Cup Family Fun Day at Ewood Park on Sunday 24th June, the same day England face Group G opponents Panama.
The event will begin at 11am and finish at 3pm and we will be showing the Three Lions’ first ever meeting with the Central America nation, live in Blues Bar, 1pm kick-off with food and drink available to purchase.
However, the fun begins two hours prior to kick-off at the Nizhny Novgorod Stadium, with lots of fun activities in place.
The popular inflatable goal will be in place, so if you think you have the shooting boots of England captain Harry Kane, this is the perfect challenge to test your skills! In addition to this, there will be face painting, World Cup themed sporting activities and a variety of stalls.
Blackburn Rovers Community Trust’s fundraising and events officer Jess Clegg believes the World Cup Fun Day will be the ideal day out for Blackburn Rovers supporters.
She said: “We are all so excited for the World Cup to begin and for us, there is no better way than having a Family Fun Day at Ewood Park.
“This is the perfect chance to whet Rovers’ fans football appetite before our return to the Sky Bet Championship in August.
“We have arranged for a host of activities to take place including World Cup themed events and of course, we will be showing England’s match against Panama in Blues Bar.
“We are still looking out for people and businesses to have stalls at the event and even an official sponsor for our World Cup Family Fun Day, so if you are interested, please get in touch.”
