Fixture Release Day is almost upon us, and Rovers manager Tony Mowbray says there are plenty of games for fans and players alike to look forward to in 2018/19.
Mowbray's side will go into the Championship season full of confidence, having achieved automatic promotion back to the second tier at the first attempt.
The fixture list for the coming campaign will be released at 9am on Thursday 21st June and, with two thirds of clubs based around or north of Birmingham, the boss is expecting some exciting clashes.
“Particularly for us, in this part of the world, there are a lot of teams in the North West," he said.
“Wigan came up with us and there’s obviously Preston and Bolton, so there are a lot of teams that our fans will be looking at, that are big derby games.
“There are obviously a few teams in the league having some financial issues as well, which have been well documented.
"So, you look at it and think that maybe they will come back to us if they haven’t got the financial power that they’ve had in recent years.
“All those little angles might give you a bit of momentum towards what we want to do.
"Sometimes you look at the Championship and think of the teams that have got huge budgets and parachute payments but, if they’ve hit a financial buffer, maybe that helps you a little bit if you haven’t got that resource.”
