Rovers star Bradley Dack says he cannot wait to test himself in the Championship ahead of his first ever campaign at that level.
Dack's spent all his career either in League One or League Two, aside from a short stint in the non-league game during a loan spell at Braintree Town back in 2013.
And the 24-year-old feels his time in the second tier is due, with the no.23 insisting he should have played in the division prior to 2018-19.
“It’s a challenge that we’re all relishing. There are a few of us - myself included - who haven’t played in the Championship before and we’re all really looking forward to it," Dack said.
"I believed I could have played in the Championship a few years ago to be honest."
“It’s been a long time coming for me and it was frustrating because I believed I could have played in the Championship a few years ago to be honest.
“But it wasn’t to be and I came here at the start of last season because I knew we’d have a chance of reaching the Championship. Fortunately we’ve achieved that goal.
“I believe in this squad and we have quality players all over the pitch so there’s no reason we can’t do well next season, especially with the bond we have in the camp both on and off the pitch.
"Everyone gets on well and there are no bad eggs in that dressing room."
