Rovers star Bradley Dack says he cannot wait for the FIFA World Cup to start and is hoping England can produce better than previous tournaments.
On the back of a terrific maiden campaign at Ewood Park which saw the no.23 bag 18 goals, Dack is looking forward to settling down for today's curtain raiser.
And reflecting on his World Cup memories and previewing the tournament, Brad sees no reson why England can't have a successful tournament over in Russia.
“I love the World Cup, it’s nice to have football on every day! England have been disappointing in the last few years at tournaments and certainly in my lifetime, I think 2002 and 2004 was the closest we got," he said.
“I’ve never seen us get any further that the quarter-finals stage but I hope it will be different this time around. I think we have a good team, a young team with lots of energy, pace and power."
So how does he see Gareth Southgate's Three Lions getting on in the tournement?
The national team face Tunisia on Monday evening before tackling Panama and much fancied Belgium in the group stages of the competition.
“We can be the dark horses," he adds adamantly. "Nobody really expects much of us and if we can get through the group stages then who knows what will happen."
Don't forget, the Blackburn Rovers Community Trust are having a World Cup Family Fun Day at Ewood Park on Sunday 24th June, the same day England face Panama.
