Fans favourite Elliott Bennett says he's itching for the Championship fixtures to be revealed ahead of Rovers' return to the second tie

Every one of Rovers' 46 games for 2018-19 will be announced on Thursday morning, and it seems fans won't be the only ones refreshing rovers.co.uk!

“I can’t wait. It’s something you always look forward to," the 29-year-old said with a smile.

“Obviously the Premier League ones got released last week and you’re just itching to know who you’ve got coming up.

“When you’re doing all the runs in pre-season, it’s nice to focus on who you’ll be playing in the first game of the season."

An experienced campaigner, Benno has spent the majority of his career playing at Championship level for Rovers, Norwich City, Bristol City and Brighton & Hove Albion.

And he believes the division will be as tough as ever, with 19 of the 24 sides partaking in the league being former Premier League sides.

“It’s a really, really tough division. We’ve just got to look forward to it now. We did a lot of hard work last year to get back into the Championship, so while we enjoyed getting promoted, the hard work starts next week when we’re back in pre-season.

“I wouldn’t say curb people’s expectations, you’ve just got to go into it with an open mind and just know that the lads that take the field every week will be giving their all to get three points.

“Sometimes we will and sometimes we won’t, but I’m sure they’ll stick with us just like they did all last season.”
