Rovers utility man Elliott Bennett says he cannot wait for next season to come, admitting he's excited by what the future may hold.
Bennett will be heading into his third season as a Rover having arrived back in the January 2016 transfer window from Norwich City.
And he openly admits to feeling right at home at Ewood Park when we caught up with him at Eid in the Park at the weekend.
“Yes, I love this football club. I love being here," he said. The town and the club has taken to me and any chance I get to give back, I try to do that.
“Hopefully we can make the town proud again next season."
Ahead of next season, the fans favourite adds there is no reason why Rovers can't give things a good go back in the Championship.
Following promotion back to the second tier at the first attempt, Bennett believes the positivity around the club can only be a good thing and is hopeful it can continue into next season and beyond.
“You need it. When you’re chopping and changing managers, and things maybe aren’t working as well, you get a bit of discontent from the sidelines.
“Since the gaffer’s been here, that hasn’t happened. Even when we got relegated, the fans were with us all the way.
“They saw that we were trying our hardest to stay up and then obviously last year they came in their numbers and backed us, and I think that’s great credit to the gaffer and his coaching staff.
“They brought a real togetherness, not just on the pitch, but obviously with the fans as well.”
