Tony Mowbray was pleased with the performance of his Rovers squad on a warm afternoon at Lincoln City's Sincil Bank.

Rovers got back to winning ways in pre-season thanks to Joe Nuttall's header just a moment before half time in the Lincolnshire sunshine.

Mowbray's men had chances to add to their lead on a relatively comfortable afternoon against the League Two outfit, but two great stops from Josh Vickers denied Bradley Dack from notching a brace against the Imps.

And speaking afterwards, Tony was pleased to see his side come through a stern test against Danny Cowley's outfit.

“We had a lot of the ball today and had to defend a lot of set plays," the boss reflected post-match.

"Both sets of players did well today. The ones who played for an hour grew into the game and I’d say in the second half we had the vast majority of play in their half of the pitch.

“We’re still lacking a bit in the attacking third, which is what I’ve been saying for the last few weeks. We need that individuality and can’t solely rely on Bradley [Dack].

"We need more players in to threaten the opposition goal and we’re working hard to get those players in.

“The players have worked really hard and I think there are plenty of positive signs. We’re looking forward to a good test on Thursday against Everton."

Rovers continue their pre-season preparations on Thursday evening when Everton visit Ewood Park for our final home friendly ahead of the big Championship kick-off. Ticket for the game remain on sale and you can purchase yours by clicking here.
