"Let's get off to a good start and believe."
That's the message from Tony Mowbray as he prepares to lead his Rovers side into the 2018/19 Championship campaign.
Following a busy pre-season which included victories over Hibernian and Everton, the Blues begin life back in the second tier at Ipswich this Saturday.
Looking ahead to the game and the season, the boss said: "The aim is to be competitive in every game, starting at Ipswich this weekend.
"Sometimes, we'll play well and lose, others we'll play poorly and win, there will be those days. But we want to get off to a good start, believe and take positives.
"We want to show that we can compete in this division and I'm sure we can."
Chelsea loanee Kasey Palmer became the latest summer recruit on Monday, and while the manager is expecting further additions, he says the current squad is more than ready.
"There will be more bodies coming in, but the group we have at the moment are raring to go. Adrenaline will be high," he added.
"The players are ready. We're all looking forward to the challenge, it's one we should embrace.
"Let's work really hard and make life difficult for Ipswich. I'm sure it will be a big test, and we have to draw on the spirit of last year."
