Rovers have named a strong side for our maiden pre-season home friendly against Liverpool at Ewood Park this evening.
A number of regulars from our League One promotion campaign all begin against the Reds, with our regular back five all starting, whilst new capture Joe Rothwell will get his first run out at Ewood.
Fellow new boy Jacob Davenport is an option from the bench, which also features youngsters Scott Wharton - fresh from signing a new deal - Lewis Travis and Joe Nuttall.
Visitors Liverpool bring a very strong squad to East Lancashire, and whilst their World Cup stars such as Mo Salah and Roberto Firmino won't feature, a number of experienced internationals do.
The experienced James Milner starts in midfield, whilst England internationals Nathaniel Clyne and Adam Lallana will both begin the contest.
On the bench, another England international in Daniel Sturridge is an option, as is Netherlands captain Virgil Van Dijk - the most expensive defender in world football after his £75m move from Southampton in January 2018.
New boys Naby Keita and Fabinho, who both signed this summer for fees of more than £50m each both are available for Jurgen Klopp from the bench.
