With the 2018/19 Championship campaign just around the corner, Rovers' penultimate pre-season test sees Everton visit Ewood Park on Thursday night.

Here's our guide to the game...

Following wins at Hibernian and Lincoln, a draw at Port Vale and defeat against Liverpool so far in pre-season, our preparations for the coming campaign continue this week against another Merseyside opponent. Speaking ahead of Everton's trip to East Lancashire, Tony Mowbray says he expects the Toffees to provide a "tough test" for his players, with the big kick-off against Ipswich just over a week away. As always, we'll be in attendance, bringing you team news and live updates via social media. Fans can follow the action via our official Twitter account, with kick-off at Ewood scheduled for 7:45pm.

This week's game represents another chance for Mowbray to take another look at his squad, and the boss could well look to give game time to as many players as possible again here. There are no fresh injury concerns ahead of the match, but Scott Wharton - who featured against Lincoln last time out - has since re-joined the Imps on loan. Joe Nuttall scored the only goal at Sincil Bank and will hope to test himself against Premier League opposition here, but duo Sam Hart and Ben Gladwin remain doubtful. Paul Caddis isn't likely to play, having featured in the Under-23s' 5-0 win at AFC Darwen on Tuesday night. Meanwhile, Everton could name a strong side, having played the likes of Kevin Mirallas, Morgan Schneiderlin and Cenk Tosun in a narrow defeat against Porto last time out. Both starting line-ups will be released an hour before kick-off on matchday.

Everton have also been in pre-season action ahead of Thursday's clash, including the aforementioned trip to Portugal. The Toffees recorded draws against Lille and Bury but racked up an astounding scoreline during an earlier trip to Ausria, beating ATV Irdning 22-0. Everton finished eighth in the top flight last term under the guidance of former Rovers boss Sam Allardyce, who has since made way for Marco Silva. Their first-choice goalkeeper Jordan Pickford enjoyed a standout summer at the World Cup with England and is one of many talented players at their disposal. They could hand an unofficial debut to Brazilian attacker Richarlison, who completed a move from Watford on Tuesday.

Tickets for the game are on general sale and will be available on the day, via the ticket office at Ewood Park. Adult tickets are priced at £10, seniors and young adults at £5 and juniors at £2. For more information, please contact the ticket office on 01254 372000.
