Rovers will look to make it two wins from two during pre-season with victory at League Two side Port Vale on Saturday.

Here's our guide to the game...

Following an impressive 2-0 win at Scottish side Hibernian last Sunday, the Blues' preparations for the 2018/19 Championship campaign continue this weekend against English opposition. Tony Mowbray fielded two line-ups in Edinburgh - one in each half - with youth and then experience on display. It was fitting, therefore, that goals from Craig Conway and Willem Tomlinson gave us a winning start to pre-season, setting things up nicely for Saturday's trip to Staffordshire. As always, we'll be in attendance, bringing you team news and live updates via social media. Fans can follow the action via our official Twitter account, with kick-off at Vale Park scheduled for 12:30pm.

This weekend's game represents another chance for Mowbray to take another look at his squad, with just over three weeks remaining until the start of the regular season. Midfield duo Joe Rothwell and Jacob Davenport caught the eye on their unofficial debuts last time out and will likely play a part again here. David Raya, Paul Downing, Ben Gladwin and Dominic Samuel all missed the win at Hibs after picking up knocks and will hope to be ready for a return. Both starting line-ups will be released an hour before kick-off on matchday.

Port Vale have been training over in Ireland ahead of this weekend's clash, which will be their first of pre-season. The Valiants finished 20th in League Two last term, just a point above the relegation zone, having appointed former player Neil Aspin as manager in October 2017. Vale's star man is striker Tom Pope, now in his third spell at the club. The 32-year-old scored 19 goals in all competitions in 2017/18, winning the club's Player of the Year award for the third time. Their Vale Park ground has a capacity of around 19,000, and Rovers fans will be housed in the Hamil Road Stand, which can hold 4,500 supporters.

Tickets for the game will only be available on the day, via the away ticket office on Hamil Road. Adult tickets are priced at £10, with concessions (62 & over and 21 and under) at £5. For more information, please contact the Rovers ticket office on 01254 372000.
