Rovers will step up preparations for the 2018/19 Championship campaign on Sunday with a first pre-season match against Scottish side Hibernian.

Here's our guide to the game...

STATE OF PLAY

Matchdays are finally back! This will be Rovers' first game since the start of May, when players and fans alike celebrated promotion back to the second tier at the first attempt. With focus now firmly on the new campaign, Sunday's trip north of the border represents a good test for the Blues, and a chance for Tony Mowbray to gauge his team's pre-season progress following a recent training camp in Austria. It is also, of course, Hibs defender Paul Hanlon's testimonial. As always, we'll be in attendance, bringing you team news and live updates via social media. Fans can follow the action via our official Twitter account, with kick-off at Easter Road scheduled for 3pm.

TEAM NEWS

Rovers could hand unofficial debuts to summer signings Joe Rothwell and Jacob Davenport, following their moves from Oxford United and Manchester City respecitvely. With everyone looking to impress before the big kick off on 4th August, Mowbray has hinted that he'll look to give minutes to as many players as possible this weekend. International quartet Darragh Lenihan, Derrick Williams, Corry Evans and club captain Charlie Mulgrew all returned to training at the start of the week. Both starting line-ups will be released an hour before kick-off on matchday.

OUR OPPONENTS

Hibernian are likely to be further along in their pre-season preparations, with a Europa League qualifier against Faroese side NSÍ Runavík just around the corner. Hibs finished fourth in Scotland's top flight last season and are managed by former Neil Lennon, who will be familiar with Mulgrew from their time together at Celtic. Speaking of managers, Mowbray's career as a coach began at Easter Road, following a spell as interim boss at Ipswich. Midfielder John McGinn is arguably Hibs' star man, following the departure of Dylan McGeough to Sunderland.

TICKETS

Tickets for the game will be available from Ewood Park until 3pm on Friday, and on the day at the stadium (cash only).
