David Raya says he is over a troublesome injury and is ready to get fully up to speed, with the Championship opener at Ipswich Town getting nearer.
The Spanish stopper missed out on last week's game against Hibernian due to a slight knock, but was back to play the final half an hour in the Potteries against Port Vale on Saturday.
And the 22-year-old now has his eyes on a starting berth, with Rovers in action on Thursday night when Champions League runners-up Liverpool visit Ewood Park.
The Reds are expected to bring a strong squad to East Lancashire, with summer signings Fabinho and Naby Keita both set to play a part.
"It's been a few weeks now since we got back into pre-season and I've had a knock since the back end of last season, which still wasn't right. That was why I took a rest and missed out on last weekend's trip to Scotland," Raya revealed.
"So it feels great to have got some game time against Port Vale. I didn't have a lot to do, but to get some more minutes under my belt was perfect for me.
"The aim was to get back in time for Thursday's game against Liverpool at Ewood and it's good that that's been the case," he added. "It'll be a great game to be involved in and a good test for us, to see where we are and to set standards. Hopefully we get a positive result.
"We've been back for three weeks and the lads have all looked really sharp. We've all come back in good shape but we're looking good ahead of our opener at Ipswich in a few weeks."
