A Rovers fan for over 40 years, Peter Kay was one of the first supporters to purchase our new home shirt and admits the 2018-19 number has a "classy" look to it.
Peter was straight in the Roverstore this morning, with doors opening at 10am, at which time the kit was available to purchase.
And our loyal supporter is pleased to see us go with "something different" ahead of our opening pre-season friendly against Liverpool on Thursday night.
“I like the kit, it’s classy and although we have had similar colours in the past, this one is something different. We have over 100 years worth of Rovers kits and it’s hard work to find something different," he began.
“It looks good to me and I’m someone who collects blue and white kits. I of course have plenty of Rovers ones from over the years but I also have shirts from Hertha Berlin and Grasshoppers in Zurich.
“I collect anything that’s blue and white halves and I’d say our heritage and history is this colour. We’ll see how we get on with this kit this season.
“I’ve been a fan since 1972 and my first season was a relegation campaign into League Three, where we have been a few times in the past."
So what does Peter hope for in our first season back to the Championship in 2018-19?
“I hope we consolidate this season. I think last season brought everyone altogether and after missing seven away games over the last two seasons I’ve seen us get relegated and then get promoted," he added.
“There seems to be harmony with everyone at the club. It was also positive, everybody was together and I think Tony [Mowbray] and the players have brought everyone at the club together as one.
“Rovers have always been a family club who have always had a great bond between the fans and the team and I think we have that more than ever at the minute."
