Dominic Samuel wants to bite the hand that used to feed him on Saturday and put Rovers in the hat for the third round of the FA Cup with it.
Samuel played under current Hull manager Nigel Adkins at Reading and would love to put one over his old manager when he takes his Tigers team to Ewood Park at the weekend.
"Nigel's teams are always very well drilled and thorough," Samuel says when discussing his old manager's style.
"It'll be a test to break them down, that's for sure. Going into this game I'm hoping to grab another few goals in the competition and catch up with Dacky [Bradley Dack] at the top of the scoring charts.
"We have so much quality, anyone can start these games. We go into the game full of confidence, believing we can win the match.
And Samuel is looking forward to seeing how himself and his team-mates get on against the visitors, who were relegated from the Premier League just over six months ago.
"Everyone wants to play against teams in a higher division. We want to be in the Championship and these are the teams we'll be up against if we go up.
"It's a great opportunity, a great challenge. Teams from above expect to win but we see ourselves as a club with plenty of Championship quality and will go into the game full of confidence."
