Ryan Nyambe admits he's enjoying the best time in his career right now at Rovers, but still feels improvement is needed in his game.
The 20-year-old has been a firm fixture in Tony Mowbray's XI this term and recently racked up his 50th appearance for the club after coming through the academy system.
And speaking to iFollow Rovers down at Westwood Primary School in Clayton-le-Woods, Nyambe is happy with his development and game time in recent weeks and months.
“It’s been a really good few weeks for me. I’ve got my head down and feel I’m doing pretty well," he said at the school.
“I’m happy and enjoying my football and that’s down to my team-mates, the staff who have been improving me and the fans for their continued support.
“I’m feeling really good, I don’t want to let up. I’m positive on and off the pitch and I love getting forward to help attacks playing down the flanks with Dom [Samuel] at the moment.
“I had a lot to learn at the start of the season but I feel I’m improving and performing better.
“You never want to be on the sidelines. When you are out of the team you have to be determined to win your place back in the team."
Forward thinking and positive, Nyambe confesses he enjoys helping out the forwards in attacking scenarios.
And he's keen to play his part in more goals going in the opposition's net, whilst keeping them out at the other end by doing his defensive duties.
“In the modern game as a full back you have to get forward and get back," he says.
"I’m keen to improve and stay out after training putting the work in. It’s a great feeling to get an assist and I want to get even more of them."
And you can see whether or not Ryan can grab an assist or two at #OneRovers Day this weekend against Northampton Town.
