Here's our guide to the game...
STATE OF PLAY
Last time out, Rovers were forced to settle for a point in a 1-1 draw with Northampton at Ewood Park, a result which extended our unbeaten run in the league to 17 games, but saw the Blues move down to third in the table. Tony Mowbray's men currently sit two points behind second-placed Shrewsbury with a superior goal difference, and four behind leaders Wigan. Rovers have conceded just 26 league goals so far this season, scoring 51 times at the other end. Kick-off against Walsall is scheduled for 7.45pm on Tuesday, and fans can follow the action via our official Twitter account, with highlights available for iFollow subscribers after the game.
Rovers captain Charlie Mulgrew could miss out after limping off at the weekend. Midfield trio Peter Whittingham, Corry Evans and Marcus Antonsson are all making progress in their respective recoveries, but the game could come too soon for them. Loanees Adam Armstrong and Jack Payne will be hoping for a first start, and Danny Graham could well keep his place up front after netting his 10th goal of the season on Saturday. Harry Chapman remains a long-term absentee, and Darragh Lenihan will get game-time with the Under-23s before making a first-team comeback. Mowbray is expected to provide an injury update during his pre-match press conference on Monday afternoon. As always, we'll bring you news of both starting line-ups via rovers.co.uk and our official social media accounts on matchday.
Walsall are in 18th the standings, with 33 points from their 27 games so far in 2017-18. Our midweek opponents are managed by former Lincoln and Hull defender Jon Whitney, and lost 3-1 at Charlton in their last league outing, their third defeat in four league games. The Saddlers have scored 34 league goals this season, with Erhun Oztumer (11) their top scorer, but they've let in 38 goals at the other end.
