Rovers Return scoop for a Ribchester Rover

James Porter finished work just in time to claim the highest Rovers Return jackpot of the season at our last home fixture against Scunthorpe United.

Speaking ahead of the first home fixture of 2018 against Hull City on Saturday afternoon, the keen Rover from Ribchester revealed that persistence and timing were the key to him coming home £620 better off from the last Ewood encounter.

"I buy ten tickets a game, which I've done for every game so far this season," explained the Blackburn End season ticket holder.

"I'd just finished work and headed straight to the game, but made sure I bought my tickets from Neil at the Blackburn End as usual before the match. The ticket that won was the first one in the run that I bought, so if someone else had barged in front of me, or the person before me had bought an extra ticket, I wouldn't have won!"

James increased his chances of landing a win by claiming 15 tickets for the draw; five of which were handed to him free of charge, thanks to the new Golden Ticket initiative that has been brought in since the start of December when Blackburn Rovers Community Trust - the club's official charity - started overseeing the matchday draw.

For every two tickets purchased, fans are given a bonus golden ticket free of charge, increasing their chances of winning and hopefully encouraging fans to invest more in the £1 per ticket lottery that helps to fund the Blackburn Rovers Academy.

Asked if he has a message about why other fans should enter the draw - and how they too can come away as winners - his message was clear.

"I invest hard each game, so I thought it was about time I won," he joked. "The money all goes to a good cause and it's a genuine lottery, so anyone can win.

"I'm half tempted to stick all the winnings on Rovers to beat Hull this weekend - double or quits! In all honesty, I haven't really thought about what to do with the cash yet, but coming so soon after Christmas, I know that it's going to come in really handy."

If you fancy the idea of a post-Christmas cash boost - or some great Rovers goodies like signed shirts and balls or matchday hospitality - make sure you purchase your Rovers Return tickets from sellers all around Ewood Park at every home game.

Priced at just £1 per ticket, don't forget that you receive a Free Golden ticket for every two tickets you purchase, to ensure three chances of winning for the price of two!

Match tickets for the Emirates FA Cup tie are also still on sale, priced at just £12 for adults, £5 for concessions and £2 for juniors. The ticket office will be open on the day of the game, or save the queues by pre-ordering via 01254 372001 or https://www.eticketing.co.uk/onerovers/.
