New Rovers recruit Jack Payne insists he's ready if required for the trip to Fleetwood Town on Saturday in League One.
Payne, who signed on loan from Huddersfield Town on Tuesday, is eager to make an instant impression on boss Tony Mowbray and the 1,000+ Rovers fans making the trip to the coast.
“I’ve played in every game this season for Oxford and started around 30 of them I think," the 23-year-old said.
“I’m fit and raring to go. In the past I’ve joined teams in pre-season and you have to build your fitness up and get up to speed with things.
“But I have come in here, I’m fully fit, I’m match fit and the good thing is this isn’t a new level for me either.
“I’ve played against every club in this league already so I know the standard and the quality which each side has."
And the playmaker, who will go up against former team-mate Cian Bolger on Saturday on the Fylde Coast, has already been made to feel at home in the short time he's been in East Lancashire.
“Since I’ve been here I’ve been really impressed with the quality," the loanee added.
"The lads all get on well, it’s a strong dressing room and the they’ve welcomed me into the group straight away.
“I’m looking forward to starting now and eager to play my part at Fleetwood on Saturday."
