Rovers striker Joe Nuttall admitted he was 'over the moon' to extend his stay at Ewood Park for another three-and-a-half years.
Joe put pen to paper to continue his Rovers career and admitted he feels the best place for him is Ewood.
The striker burst onto the scene in the Under-23s team before doing the same in the first team, scoring five quickfire strikes after being handed his chance under Tony Mowbray.
And Nuttall now says it's up to him to show exactly why the boss has the faith in him.
"As a young footballer you work hard to get a long contract at a big club and I'm over the moon," Nuttall told iFollow Rovers.
"It's a big weight off my shoulders and now I can hopefully focus on my football, kick on and do the best I can.
"It's been unreal the way the season has gone. I have to thank the players and staff for helping me.
"I want to be the best player I can be. Once I got in the door here I knew I'd improve under the manager and the staff.
"As a striker you always have to score. The start I had with the Under-23s was great and helped me get into the first team here."
And Joe adds that the first team opportunity probably came sooner than expected, but feels it was deserved.
"I didn't expect it to come so soon but when you are confident and playing well I ended up getting my chance and scored in the first team as well," the striker said honestly.
"You have to keep working hard, keep pushing and not resting on your laurels.
"Scoring goals consistently at first team level is always hard. I think the help from the players and staff and the belief they've shown in me has been a massive help."
