Rovers are delighted to announce that promising young striker Joe Nuttall has signed a new long-term contract with the club.
Bury-born Nuttall, who arrived on a free transfer in the summer, has penned a three-and-a-half-year deal, which will keep him at Ewood Park until the summer of 2021.
The 20-year-old made a blistering start to his Rovers career, netting 12 goals for the Under-23s, and was quickly promoted to Tony Mowbray's senior squad.
He scored the winner on his first-team debut against Stoke City in the Checkatrade Trophy, before finding the net on his League One debut at home to Saturday's opponents Fleetwood Town at the end of October.
His remarkable goalscoring run didn't stop there, as Nuttall netted another goal against Barnet in the FA Cup triumph at Ewood Park.
The young forward scored again against Rochdale in the Checkatrade Trophy and was rewarded with his first start for the club 11 days later against hometown team Bury.
The red-hot striker continued his superb scoring streak with Rovers' fourth goal against Oxford United in November and he will be hoping to maintain his fine form for the club over the coming years.
The welcome news follows on from the January signings of Paul Downing, Adam Armstrong and Jack Payne.
