"He's very dynamic and very prolific," says Rovers boss Tony Mowbray, who struggled to hide his delight at the chance to work with striker Adam Armstrong once again.
Armstrong joined on loan from Newcastle United this morning and Tony knows exactly what he's getting from his new frontman after previously working with the 20-year-old at Coventry City.
Back then, Adam banged in 20 goals as Mowbray's side narrowly missed out on a play-off place and the boss is expecting another goal haul from his new man in the second half of this campaign.
"Adam's a young boy but he's very dynamic and very prolific," Mowbray beamed to iFollow.
"I took him from Newcastle around two-and-a-half years ago to Coventry and he didn't stop scoring.
"He's fast, can score with both feet, wants to run in behind, is technical with the ball at his feet, wants to score goals.
"I'm delighted to get him. He knows me, he knows what I expect from him and he's looked really sharp in training this morning."
And the boss is hoping for an instant impact from his loanee ahead of Shrewsbury Town's visit to Ewood Park this Saturday.
"He still has to get to know our team, see how we play and what we do. Hopefully he can hit the ground running and we can enjoy watching him."
