“I really enjoy playing alongside Charlie. He’s shown what a good player he is and really helps my own game as well."
That's what Rovers defender Paul Downing adamantly says, and it appears to be a pretty honest appraisal considering the newly turned permanent addition is still yet to be on the losing side under Tony Mowbray since initially arriving on loan.
And whilst Paul's displays have been solid, shifting to the left of Rovers' regular backline, the spectacular form and goals from skipper Charlie Mulgrew have gained all the plaudits.
And Paul says it's deserved praise for his partner in crime and admits he's loving learning from the 31-year-old.
“We went through a spell where we were solid at the back and that gave us a platform to really cause teams problems and score goals," Downing said.
