Following his loan move from Newcastle United, new Rovers recruit Adam Armstrong says he's come to East Lancashire for one reason - promotion.

The 20-year-old will remain at Ewood Park until the end of the campaign and admits he cannot wait to start his Rovers career.

The loanee knows what it takes to get goals in this division and bagged 20 when he last linked up with Tony Mowbray at Coventry City.

"It's been a bit of a crazy day but I'm happy to be here, happy it's all sorted and really can't wait for the challenge ahead," the youngster told iFollow.

"It's the right move. I've come here to get games, score goals and do well for the team.

"It's the right stage to come to Blackburn and try and help the team get promoted. I'm fit and ready to play."

And Armstrong, who started the season on loan at Bolton Wanderers, is desperate to play his part in a potential Rovers charge to the second tier during his time at Ewood Park.

"It would be something special, getting promoted to the Championship. That's where the club deserves to be, if not higher, and that's what we'll all be trying to achieve this season.

"It's amazing here with the facilities. It always nice to come into training when you can come into facilities like this. I'm looking forward to it."

You can see Adam's potential Rovers debut this Saturday for the huge clash at Ewood Park against Shrewsbury.
