New recruit Amari'i Bell says it was tough to saw farewell to Fleetwood friends but admits he's relishing the challenge at Rovers.
Bell was announced as the newest Rovers player late on Friday night and honestly says the switch wasn't a straight forward one.
But one thing he's certain about is that Rovers is the right move at the right time, but acknowledges he will have to earn his place in the side.
"Once you have built relationships at a club it is a tough decision to leave. But at the same time I am ambitious and was keen to jump on board here at Blackburn," the 23-year-old confessed.
"League One is a tough division. Last season at Fleetwood we reached the play-offs but I believe we can go all the way at Blackburn. We're all focused on getting promotion here.
"I like to get forward and defend. I will give energy, commitment and desire to do well here.
"I know I'll have to work hard and take my opportunity when it comes my way."
And as it is, Bell's first official outing as a Rovers player could be against the club he departed from less than 24 hours previously.
It's funny how these things work out, isn't it?
"I never thought it would work out this way but now I'm a Blackburn player I'll give my heart to the club," he revealed.
"I'm looking forward to the game. If it is my first game for Rovers is against Fleetwood it'll be quite surreal.
"I can't wait to meet all the boys, get on the training ground and work with the boss and the staff here."
