Rovers Ladies captain Lynda Shepherd reached a record milestone last weekend as she clocked up her 200th appearance for the club in the 2-1 victory over Liverpool Feds.
The midfielder has been an ever-present since re-joining the club from Manchester City five years ago and her talents were recognised by her peers in 2016 when she won the FA Women’s Premier League Players’ Player of the Year award.
She also skippered the side to the FA Women’s Premier League North title and Lancashire FA Womens Challenge Cup glory last season.
Rovers Ladies manager Gemma Donnelly said: “Shep is a consummate professional and I have watched her develop into an outstanding player, captain and role model.
“She has been a loyal servant of the club spanning over 10 seasons. She has led this team to league glory and numerous county cup finals during her time at the club.
“I have nothing but praise for my captain and I will do everything possible to make sure her final season is a successful one.”
