Back in action tonight are Rovers Under-23s, who will be looking to extend their 10-game unbeaten run in Premier League 2 when Reading visit the Lancashire FA HQ in Leyland.
Rovers boss Tony Mowbray confirmed on Thursday that Darragh Lenihan is expecting to play the full 90 minutes against the Royals as he bid to return to first team action in the near future.
The Irishman got just over an hour under his belt in the last Under-23s outing - a win at Fulham - last week and will be keen to extend that on Friday evening.
But Willem Tomlinson is definitely out, with the midfielder serving the final match of his two-game suspension having been sent off in the victory over Norwich City two weeks ago.
Rovers still lead the way at the top of the table, and although Reading are without a win in their last three outings, they only sit three points behind Damien Johnson's charges, in third place.
The visitors are expecting to include Ryan East in their lineup, with the youngster rewarded for his fine performances with a nomination for the Premier League 2 Player of the Month award for January.
Liam Kelly will likely be the most notable name out there having already played 24 times for the Royals first team this season and could appear as he makes his comeback from injury. The 22-year-old played against Norwich in the competition last week.
Another player who could travel is the highly rated Danny Loader, who played his part in England Under-17s World Cup triumph last summer.
Kick-off at the Lancashire FA HQ in Leyland is at 7pm.
