Rovers Under-23s are back in action on Friday evening when Brighton & Hove Albion make the long trip up from the south coast in Premier League 2.
Rovers are in red hot form at the moment and will be full of confidence after winning against Watford in the Premier League Cup on Monday evening.
The victory against the Hornets mean it is now four wins on the spin for Damien Johnson's charges, and five without a defeat in all competitions.
Lewis Mansell scored the winner in that game and will be hopeful of a start, but Joe Rankin-Costello is a doubt having missed the last couple of games.
Joe Nuttall could again be involved, whilst Lewis Travis could get gametime, now he'll miss the next three first team games after being sent off at Portsmouth.
Currently sitting in mid-table in Premier League 2, opponents Brighton come into the game against Rovers on the back of two consecutive wins in the competition and haven't conceded a goal in those two victories, either.
Their last outing saw the Seagulls defeat second placed Aston Villa, just after beating Newcastle United, so will prove to be a stern test for Johnson's in form outfit.
The Albion have certainly shared the goals around this season, with Steven Alzate, Henrik Björdal, Aaron Connolly and James Tilley all on three goals this campaign.
The visitors have played the likes of Beram Kayal, Sam Baldock and Jiri Skalak in their Under-23s games this season, but it's expected that none of these three will travel up to East Lancashire for the clash.
The last league meeting between the two ended 2-2, saw Nuttall hit a brace and Willem Tomlinson get sent off in an entertaining clash.
The game takes place at the Lancashire FA HQ in Leyland, with kick-off at 7pm.
