EuroFIT, the brand new health programme geared towards football fans, has officially landed at Blackburn Rovers Community Trust.
The Trust hosted an open day in the Darwen End Stand for the programme on Tuesday, with a number of local men, between the ages of 30-65, signing up with the start date just a matter of weeks away.
The open day provided an opportunity for participants to meet the team delivering the project and ask any questions they had about EuroFIT.
William, who was one of the first to sign on the dotted line, admitted he has been searching for a programme like EuroFIT and explained why it is ideal for him.
“I have been attending the gym since Christmas but I found it a bit too intense because I have a heart condition,” said William.
“I want a programme which will look after me and monitor my progress. I saw the EuroFIT poster on the noticeboard at my local GP and it seems ideal for what I am looking for.
“The open day was great and very easy going. I managed to find out a lot of important information about the programme.
“This is the first time I have heard of a programme like this and it was all explained nicely to me. I am hoping it will do me some good.”
The primary aim of the 12 week EuroFIT programme is to engage with men between the ages of 30-65 through their connection with Blackburn Rovers to make sustainable improvements in their diet, activity and physical fitness.
The sessions will be based at Ewood Park and the aim is to increase their physical activity levels, spend less time sitting down and the option to help aid weight loss if they wish.
