Rovers Under-23s manager Damien Johnson admits that the double signing of Okera Simmonds and Oliver Byrne are excellent captures.
Both youngsters put pen to paper this week, with Okera arriving from Liverpool on Tuesday, whilst ex-Manchester United and Liverpool stopper Byrne, signed on Saturday after leaving Cardiff City.
And Development Squad supremo Johnson, whose high-flying side sit top of Premier League 2, confesses he's been impressed by what he's seen from the duo.
"Okera has been in for a couple of weeks now and he's just a little bit different to what we have in the two age groups, the Under-18s and the Under-23s," Johnson said.
"After losing Callum (Wright), he will give us that different dimension in the final third. It's important we let him settle in and get used to the environment and how we do things.
"Oliver has got good pedigree. He's come in and he's really impressed Ben (Benson) and he's one that will come into the group and no doubt help us."
A reminder that Johnson's team have a break from Premier League 2 action, as next up they head to Cardiff in the Premier League Cup on Thursday 22nd February, kick-off 12pm.
