Rovers loanee Adam Armstrong wants to celebrate his 21st birthday by bagging a goal and beating Oldham Athletic on Saturday at Ewood Park.
Armstrong has played a part in all five of the games he has been available for since arriving on a deal until the end of the season from Newcastle United.
And he's keen to hit the goal trail against the Latics and ensure Rovers return to winning ways at the weekend.
“I think that’s the main thing – we want to get into the game as quickly as possible and get those three points," the Geordie attacker admitted.
“Ewood is a tough place for anyone who comes here; teams like to sit back so we’ll have to try to break them down. That’s up to us, because we want to give the fans something to cheer about.
“It’s my birthday, so hopefully we can top it off with a win! A win and a goal would be the perfect present, but the main thing is the three points. If I can chip in and help, that would be brilliant."
And Armstrong feels settled into life at Rovers and has been impressed with the quality he's seen from the squad in training and on matchdays.
"You need competition in order to push yourself even more, it helps to feel people behind you who are pushing for your position and want to take it.
"It’s all healthy competition and I think the lads are thriving off it. Hopefully we can get a win on Saturday."
