Craig Conway said he was thrilled to have an impact on his first home league start of the season last week against Sheffield Wednesday, and insists he has plenty to give Rovers.

The Scottish flanker was a Man of the Match candidate against the Owls after an excellent display in both attack and defence down the left-hand side.

And following his fine performance in the 4-2 victory, Conway's eyeing a starting berth this weekend when Rovers take on Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium.

“It was good to get out there, especially at home. It’s been a while since I last played at Ewood, certainly in the league," the former Cardiff man told iFollow Rovers.

“I think the days before the Sheffield Wednesday game were probably the worst we’ve had since the manager has been with us.
“We needed a reaction and I thought we were excellent, played on the front foot and got the win that we deserved. We were excellent.
“I’ve still got a bit of attacking in the legs! I’ve had to be patient this season. I’ve spoken to the manager numerous times this season and to be fair to him, he said I’d get a chance.
“There’s no doubting myself, I have kept myself fit and wanted to show what I can do.
“I think I can work hard and track runners, but the boss says goals and assists in the attacking areas will keep me in the team.”
