Damien Johnson is pleased with the improvement his side have shown in the first half of the Premier League 2 season.
After a tough start to life in the top tier, Johnson’s charges have shown excellent progress and ended 2018 with three successive victories.
"There have been changes over the course of the season so far," he said. "Joe Nuttall has come back in and Tyler Magloire has come back from injury.
“The younger lads are finding their feet and we’ve certainly looked stronger in the last few weeks.
“I’ve got to look at it from an individual point of view. There have been positives and the lads are still adjusting to the league. John Buckley and Brad Lyons have really improved as the season has gone on.
“The lads at the back have been tested and they have shown they can cope.
“It was tough early on, but we’ve improved with each game. We’ve got used to the league now and we knew it was always going to be a test.”
Rovers return to action on Monday January 7th when they take on Chelsea and the Development Squad supremo is eager for his side to carry on their fine recent form.
“You want to compete and I'm seeing improvement and that development from the players,” Johnson added.
“The challenge for them going forward is to keep improving.
“That opportunity may come in the first team or going out on loan, but it’s important to keep trying to catch the manager’s eye to earn an opportunity.”
