Rovers Under-23s will be looking to build on a positive opening-day performance when they welcome Chelsea to Leyland on Monday evening.

Damien Johnson's side picked up a point in their first game back in the top tier, drawing 2-2 at Derby, with Stefan Mols and Hayden Carter on the scoresheet.

It's back to action on Monday evening, this time on home soil, with Chelsea the first visitors to the Lancashire FA headquarters.

Like Rovers, Chelsea also drew on the opening day, with Charly Musonda's penalty earning them a point against Everton.

In terms of team news, Rovers will be without Charley Doyle following his red card at Derby, while fellow defender Tyler Magloire is doubtful after suffering an injury in the same game.

Johnson may look to give game time to the likes of Joe Nuttall - last season's top scorer at Under-23 level - who didn't feature in the first-team's win at Hull on Saturday.

Kick-off for Monday night's match is 7pm. Tickets are just £3, while concessions are £1. Season ticket holders can watch the action free of charge.
