Do you do your shopping at Tesco? If the answer is yes, Blackburn Rovers Community Trust needs your support!

The Trust is currently bidding to bag a massive cash boot from the Tesco Bags of Help initiative which will help renovate two changing rooms in the Indoor Centre to host a new education programme for adults between the ages of 16-25, which will be launched next month.

The grants available are £4,000, £2,000 and £1,000 and the Trust are up against other local organisations for the cash boosts.

“We are about to renovate a couple of classrooms to help young people classed as NEAT, which means they are not in education and training,” explained David Hayhurst, who is BRCT head of secondary and further education.

“The money that is raised through the Tesco bags of help scheme will help to decorate the classrooms and to purchase new equipment. Hopefully this will give a chance for more young people in the local area to learn new skills and make them more employable.

“If you are in any of the Tesco’s in the Blackburn and Darwen area, please pick up a blue coin and place in the Blackburn Rovers Community Trust box. We appreciate the support everyone has shown so far.”
