Rovers have been drawn against League Two side Lincoln City in the second round of the Carabao Cup.
The clash against the Imps will take place at Ewood Park, with the tie scheduled to be played week commencing Monday 27th August.
Rovers secured their place in the hat courtesy of an impressive 5-1 victory over Carlisle United at Brunton Park on Tuesday night.
Opponents Lincoln defeated Port Vale earlier in the week to make it to this stage of the competition.
We of course recently faced Danny Cowley's side in a pre-season friendly, with Rovers running out 1-0 winners at Sincil Park.
In another twist of fate, Rovers defender Scott Wharton is on loan with the Imps and will be ineligible to play against his parent club.
We have played Lincoln in one previous season in the League Cup (1971-71), drawing 0-0 at Ewood before losing 4-1 at Sincil Bank.
But Rovers were triumphant in the Imps' last visit to our home; beating them 4-1 in the FA Cup in 1973.
