Rovers Ladies have made six summer signings ahead of their return to league action this weekend.
Gemma Donnelly’s side, who have lifted the FA Women’s Premier League Northern Division title for the past two seasons, get their National League campaign underway at Doncaster Belles on Sunday.
In a bid to make it an historic hat-trick of league crowns, Rovers have strengthened their squad ahead of the new campaign.
Following the departure of goalkeeper Danielle Hill, Rovers have brought in Alex Brooks from Fylde as their new number one.
The talented shot-stopper is one of three new faces to join from Fylde, along with hard-working midfield duo Lauren Davies and Eve Kennerley, who was with the club as a youngster.
Forward Bethany Donoghue, another former Rovers player, returns to the club from Sheffield FC, experienced defender Charlotte Stuart joins from Bradford City, where she was player-manager, and Kate O’Gara became Rovers’ sixth signing when she completed a move from Lady Chaps Soccer in the United States.
As well as bringing some new players on board, Donnelly has also managed to retain the majority of her treble-winning squad, including long-serving skipper Lynda Shepherd.
Natasha Flint, Jess Holbrook, Saffron Jordan, Lagan Makin, Natasha Fenton, Kayleigh McDonald, Alex Taylor, Ellie Cook, Kelsey Pearson, Chelsey Jukes, Hannah Walsh and Sarah Agger have also signed up for the 2018-19 campaign.
