Rovers Under-23s captain Lewis Hardcastle has today joined League Two side Port Vale on loan until the end of the season.
The 20-year-old midfielder, who skippered the development squad to the Premier League 2 Division 2 title last season, will remain with the Valiants until May 31st.
Hardcastle has permission to play for Neil Aspin's side in the Checkatrade Trophy and FA Cup, but not in any games against Rovers.
A product of the club’s Academy, Hardcastle is yet to feature for the first team, but did make the bench for the FA Cup second round replay at Crewe last December.
This will be his second loan spell away from Ewood Park, having spent the 2015-16 season at Evo-Stik Premier League North side Salford City, where he received rave reviews for his displays.
Rovers would like to wish Lewis well during his time out on loan.
