Rovers Ladies star Natasha Flint scored the only goal of the game as England Women’s Under-23s defeated host nation Norway in the opening match of the annual Nordic Tournament.
The winner arrived on 35 minutes as Jodie Brett played in Flint, who rounded the keeper before chipping the ball into the empty net.
England are back in action on Friday, when they face the USA, before completing the round-robin competition against Sweden on Monday.
Flint, who joined Rovers from Fylde in December 2017, now has five caps at Under-23 level and is the only member of the 20-player squad to ply her trade outside of Tier 1 and Tier 2 football.
The Young Lionesses are looking to defend their title after winning the Nordic Tournament last year.
